Tradeware Systems Receives Investment from Summit Partners.
Supplier of Electronic Order Management and Routing
Solutions Launches Major Business Expansion.
New York and Boston, July 12, 2004 - Tradeware
Systems Corp. (Tradeware), a global provider of Financial Information
eXchange (FIX)-based electronic order management systems and direct
market access trading connectivity solutions, announced today that
it has received a $6 million minority investment from Summit Partners,
a leading private equity and venture capital firm with more than
$5.5 billion under management.
With this funding, Tradeware intends to accelerate its software
development work, fuel the ongoing expansion of its data centers
in New York and London, and support future activity related to strategic
partnerships and acquisitions. The FIX protocol is a messaging standard
developed for the real-time electronic exchange of securities transactions.
"Since Tradeware's founding in 1993, we've come to be recognized
not only as leaders in FIX-based trading technology, but for delivering
the best customer experience and value in the business," said Tradeware
Chairman John J. Marino. "As a result, our base of broker/dealer
and buy-side clients has expanded to more than 250 firms across
the United States and, following our global connectivity launch
this spring, in Europe as well. At the same time, we've posted more
than 25 consecutive quarters of revenue growth and have been profitable
since 1998."
"Tradeware is poised to launch a number of new software products
this year that will add tremendous value for our customers" said
Marino. "Our relationship with Summit Partners will provide us with
the capital and strategic planning resources we need to shorten
the time required to get our customers into production with these
innovations, while accelerating our development of future offerings."
"We've been impressed by the Tradeware team, their record of
financial strength and stability, their reputation as champions
of Financial Information eXchange (FIX) technology, and their ability
to leverage this technology on behalf of a fast-growing and remarkably
loyal customer base,"said Mark A. deLaar, a vice president with
Summit Partners, who has joined Tradeware's Board of Directors. "Tradeware is developing a suite of exciting new products, and introducing
an unprecedented cross-border securities trading and settlement
platform for the North American and European financial services
industries. The company has doubled in size over the past 18 months
and is building on this momentum with an even more ambitious strategic
plan for the year ahead. With Summit Partners' financial support
and strategic guidance, Tradeware can be more aggressive in executing
on this plan."
